Research On The Exterior Wall Tiles Of Modern Architectures In Changchun

As a product of a special historical period of China,the modern architecture of Changchun owns a unique historical value and research significance in Modern Chinese History.Since the establishment of its administration in 1800,Changchun has gone through 200 years of history.Especially between 1898 and 1945,Changchun had experienced the invasions and dominations of Tsarist Russia and Japanese Imperialism.Most of the modern architectures built during this period had integrated Chinese traditional crafts and western advanced construction techniques and materials,and thus formed quite special architectural style and facade characteristics of this stage.Face tile was a “new” facing material first introduced by Japanese designer to Changchun's modern architecture on a large scale at this state,so its features became an important part of the architectural culture in this period and the most visible characteristics of the facade.Domestic researches in this field generally focus on architectural design,style or theory,while independent researches on face tile are much fewer.To this end,the features of the exterior wall tiles used by the city's modern architecture were induced and studied systematically in this article.Firstly,this article briefly reviewed the modern urban development and architectural features of Changchun in the context of face tile application,and fully expounded the researches on the exterior wall tiles used by the city's modern architecture as well as the relevant analysis methods,which provide a basic theory and support for the research of this article.Secondly,this article analyzed the exterior wall tiles of the city's modern architecture from three perspectives,architectural type features,regional distributiontendency and value research of the face tiles,trying to get the unique value and rule of the application of these exterior wall tiles.Based on the above research and analysis results,the final part of this article made a systematic study on these wall tiles' exterior features,including the size and shape,color and rhythm,texture and pattern,tile arranging and laying skills;and by comparing with the features of the exterior wall tiles used by modern architectures in other major cities in Northeast China,summarized the unique features of the exterior wall tiles used by Changchun's modern architecture,in the hope of providing a reasonable reference and basis for the protection of historic buildings and the exploration of urban historical context of Changchun.
