Research On The Renewal Design Of Youthhostels Based On The Existing Houses In Western Sichuan

Youth Hostel is one of the most popular types of hotels in the world,it has been developed for more than 100 years,and set up an international league to spread the world.Europe is the first area to establish youth hostel.In the late nineties,youth hostel entered Guangdong,China.Guangdong has become a member of the International Youth Hostels Union.With the rapid rise of China's economy,youth hostels make a figure with a strong momentum in our tourism industry.With 20 years of development,youth hostels have been spread throughout the country to most cities.Youth hostel building is a type of hotel building,compared with the modern hotel building,youth hostels have big difference in aspect of purpose,form,content and requirements.Now,many of our country youth hostels are built on the basis of existing buildings,which is somewhat similar to nowadays advocated low-carbon buildings.In between these hostels,some buildings transformed from the existing local dwellings.In the meantime of renovation,inherit the characteristics of original building.They have distinctive features and has a very strong regional sense.With this way of transformation,architect shape the characteristics of youth hostels,and also provides a way to solve the problem of history at the same time-regionalism inheritance and renewal.In the tide of globalization,regionalism are in embarrassing dilemma for many reasons,more and more regional architecture were abandoned by people as time changes.These situation is serious of same extent to dwellings in western Sichuan.This author research the inheritance,renewal and activation of local architecture,through study the role of young people in the design,introduce the urban population,enrich the role of economic formats,so as to achieve the protection and continuation of regional role.At the same time,the author create a new and unique local youth hostel for visitors,through the renovation of regional youth hostel.Which offer visitors experience the traditional characteristics of Western Sichuan,making it a land mark for regionalism expression.This paper first analyzes and compare the western Sichuan residential and the youth hostel,especially analyze the existence value,facing problems and solutions.Then comes the overall overview of hostels,introducing their own characteristics and the purpose of the movement,studying the advantages of hostels which transformed from existing dwellings.In the meanwhile pointed out the corresponding strategy.Based on the analysis of the existing dwellings in western Sichuan and the interpretation of the youth hostels,the paper start from ideas of inheriting,updating and activating the existing houses,to study the design strategy of the youth hostels with the transformation of the existing dwellings in western Sichuan.This paper makes a detailed analysis and study on the three aspects,which are regional heritage design,adaptive renovation and experiential life remodeling.Finally,the paper analyzes the feedback of the actual project——Minyue Town DIY maker service station,and analyzes the practical methods in the project design and the practical measures to solve the problem.
