In recent years,the cement industry design enterprises have more and more foreign contracting programs.The European standards are used at the actual project areas.Because of the incomprehension of the seismic ductility design method in European standard,a low ductility class(DCL)for which global elastic analysis is always utilized for the structural design of the cement kiln tower.Although the DCL design method is simple and easy to operate,but the design result is often not economical and practical.When the seismic action is the control effect to the design of a steel frame structure,DCL design approach will lead to a greater amount of steel.So in this case of the high seismic intensity area,it is very necessary to take the ductility design method.Based on the comparison between China and Europe on the seismic code,European standard seismic ductility design process is given.Non-linear static pushover and incremental dynamic analyses is used to analyze structural seismic behavior for engineering use.The main contents are as follows:(1)The European standard anti-seismic concept is system introduced comprehensively,the comparison between China and Europe on the seismic code is given.According to the original specification,the detailed summary is made for the seismic design of steel structure in EC8.Seismic ductility design process is given and provided the basis for the design of preheater tower of cement.(2)The main analysis method of structural seismic performance,the nonlinear static Pushover analysis(Pushover)method and nonlinear incremental dynamic analysis(IDA)method,is introduced,and the capacity spectrum method for seismic performance evaluation is recommended.The definition of the behavior factor is given and the criterion of the collapse of structures is determined.(3)A simple seismic design and analysis of center support steel frame is provided to illustrate the differences between GB10 and EC8,and European standard ductility design method.Capacity spectrum method is used to evaluate structural seismic behavior,and the behavior factor is evaluated.According to the examples,the seismic ductility design process is verified to be applied to practical engineering.(4)The research object is a cement kiln preheater tower in Tianjin cement factory.The engineering design software sap2000 is used to design the preheater tower according to the seismic ductility design method.The general finite element analysis software ABAQUS is also used to build preheater tower steel frame simplified numerical model.The relationship between the base shear and the top story displacement is obtained by non-linear static pushover and incremental dynamic analyses.Capacity spectrum method is used to evaluate structural seismic behavior,and the behavior factor is evaluated based on comparative analysis between non-linear static pushover and non-linear incremental dynamic analyses.(5)Finally,the particularity of preheater tower of cement is briefly discussed from two aspects,the equipment and the height of cement.The equipment will provide larger lateral stiffness to structure,so it is conservative to ignore the equipment in the design.The influence of the storey height to the structural seismic performance is significantly.
