Study On The Spacial Form Of Traditional Residence In Shenao Village,Tonglu County

The urbanization meeting held by the central committee highlights:“The original look of the village must be reserved and in particular,excellent Chinese traditional culture must be protected and carried forward.” “No.1 Central Document” in 2017 stated that support should be given to preserve traditional villages and that entitled areas should conduct contiguous protection and moderate development.Judging from the status quo of how traditional villages are protected,however,the content of planning and designing gives priority to buildings rather than culture,management and construction copy the practice of towns and cities-all of which further break the cultural fabric of traditional villages,resulting in a crisis in local characteristics.Th is paper studies Shenao village—a village located on the bank of Fuchunjiang River in Tonglu County,Zhejiang Province.The village now reserves approximately 140 traditional buildings of Ming and Q ing dynasties and over 60 buildings of the Republic of C hina.They were listed as historical and cultural villages at provincial and national level in 2006 and 2007 respectively.The buildings are typical representatives of traditional villages in the western part of Zhejaing province,bearing huge theoretical research importance.The whole paper,consisting of six chapters,studies fundamentally the spatial form of traditional residence in Shenao village.The first chapter determines the object of study,sorts out and analyzes the status quo of research both at home and abroad,makes clear the content,aim and significance of research.The second chapter proceeds from the formation and historical transformation of traditional residence to probe into the relations between natural environment,social formation,folk culture and spatial form.Based on macro integral space layout as well as micro local typical spatial form(entry area,patio space and hall space),the third and fourth chapters go deep into the spatial form of the traditional residence in Shenao village,reveal the types,formal characteristics,internal organization,evolution laws and the function of local space by combining research and invest igation of field statistics and classification of cases.The fifth chapter explores the aesthetic performance and value in the spatial form of traditional residence in Shenao village in terms of formal and artistic beauty in the realm of aesthetics in light of research on integral and local spatial form.The final chapter concludes the whole paper and completes interpretations from multiple aspects and classified layers on the spatial form of traditional residence in Shenao village and therefore forms an all-round reorganization of its spatial form.Through the above research on the spatial form of traditional residence,it is expected that basic data and materials of certain theoretical and practical importance can be offered to subsequent theoretical resea rchers,planners and government managers.
