Studies On The Design Of Gardening Space In The Pension Agency

In recent years, with the increasingly serious problem of aging society, people pay a lot attention to the elderly pension issues.Pension agency has become a way which had to be taken to solve this problem. Studies have shown that landscape environment in pension agency have an impact on the health of old people, and the use of gardening space horticultural therapy is able to improve elderly people's physiological and psychological health safely and effectively, and can even help them recover. However, from the current landscape situation from the pension agency in our country, the designer usually does not consider setting up gardening space, or design it like ordinary farmland, orchards and so on. This article is based on discussing and researching on the above issues, hopes to design a pension agency landscape environment allow the elderly to get physical rehabilitation, soul smoothing and have a healthy life.Based on a large amount of literature data, questionnaires and field research, results of this paper are as follows:(1) The background research of development of gardening space at home and abroad. From horticultural therapy classification, efficacy, mode of action, application design, and the elderly's psychological and psychological characteristics, this article has analyzed the current situation of the use of horticultural therapy and landscape of the pension agency.(2) The basic theory research of gardening space in pension agency. This article summarized the influence on elderly people's physiological and psychological of horticultural therapy, environmental psychology, and traditional Chinese medicine theory. And analyzed how to use these theoretical foundation to design the gardening space in pension agency.(3) The research of gardening space in national pension agency. Through field research and interviews, this article analysis of landscape features in Shenzhen Ren Da Pension Centre, Senior Activity Center in Hunan Science and Technology University, Zhuzhou Hai Fu Xiang nursing homes, and Xiangtan Xia Cheng pension institutions. And focused on gardening space Design. Proposed three practical problems:Lack of gardening space does not match the strong demands of the elderly in current pension agency; the existing gardening spaces are commercial or under extensive management; lack of safe and obstacles gardening space design based on old people's physical and psychological characteristics.(4) The survey of old people's structure, behavior, preferences and needs. Through questionnaires, interviews and the theory, this article deep analyzed on elderly's behavior characteristics and physiological and psychological characteristics.It also provide realistic basis of design of gardening space in pension agency.(5) The research of design theory of gardening space in pension agency. Based on the results of survey and analyze of field research, this article proposed the gardening activities and their classification which suit for old people, and analyzed how to choose and arrange gardening activities with different types of old people and different conditions of pension agency. According to the characteristics of gardening spatial in pension agency and its design factors, this article presented its design principles and practices, and expounded its specific content, including the operating space, storage space, rest space, access space, and transition space. It also analyzes the design methods for different disabled elderly, and how to design the landscape elements:terrain, water features, roads and paving, plants, landscape architectures and sketches.Horticultural therapy in China is still a new concept, and as a basis for the pension agency gardening space design relies on cooperation of designers, doctors, psychologists, botanists and workers from other disciplines. And also need more understanding and attention of publics. This study aims to promote awareness of people's attention of this issues, and provide the theoretical guidance of that how to use gardening space to help old people's rehabilitating in future pension agency landscape environments.
