Over the years environmental psychology researched the bond between human kind and natural setting. People aesthetical attraction to green environment was confirmed by numbers of research focusing on the subject of humans unquestionable affiliation with nature. Thesis of encoded preferences in natural landscape raised, one of the most popular was Savanna Hypothesis. Alongside the researches confirming the connection to nature, studies focusing on the positive influence of nature grew in number. The restorative properties of nature and elements of it become one of the main topic in environmental psychology discussion. Numbers of studies confirmed the positive influence of natural environment on human being. Another interesting discovery could be found after disabling the most preferred paintings created by Komar and Melamid. The basic form of landscape and proportions of blue environment to other elements on the paintings are very similar in almost all the works. The difference between each one is in the form of enculturation details. The overwhelming amount of blue environment suggest the importance of water element in the desired landscape. Water is a powerful element with significant influence on people perception of space. In many cultures and religions one can find similar meaning for this element such as:life, re-birth, renewal and energy. This symbolism makes water an universal design feature that will speak to any person, regarding nationality or belief. This discovery shows the enduring connection between people and water.
