At present,the prefabricated building is used more and more widely in our country because of the factory production,standardized on-site assembly and so on.As one form of prefabricated building,container building is also widely used in many engineering fields because of its low-carbon green,mobile and adaptable.Furthermore,for retired container,it is a good way to transform it into container house.But compared with traditional use of container,the lighting,ventilation and other using needs must be met when it is used as a building.So it is necessary to make holes on the container and such situation will weaken the integrity of container.After investigate and consider the normal practice of holes on container building,this paper takes 40 ft standard container as research object and makes a study on mechanical properties of container building with holes through ABAQUS.The main contents are as follows:(1)Based on previous research of container building by experiment and theory analysis,this paper makes model and analyses the same container building through ABAQUS.The contrast of load-displacement curve and stiffness obtained by finite element analysis and experiment all prove the feasibility of finite element method;(2)This paper makes simulation analysis of container building with different hole forms on side panel through ABAQUS and the different hole forms include the location,the size and the shape.According to the distance from the hole to loading end,the hole location falls into four kinds.The size of the hole includes four kinds and the shape is round and square.Then the simulation results of stiffness and ultimate bearing capacity are compared and analyzed to research the mechanical performance of container building with different hole forms.It is found that the location and size of the hole has a great influence on the performance of the container,and the shape has a little effect on the performance of the container.Take measures to reinforce the container building when its stiffness and ultimate bearing capacity decrease a lot due to the open holes and it helps in a certain degree;(3)This paper simulates and analyzes the single layered container building whichis designed according to the actual requirements through ABAQUS.Three 40 ft containers are combined into a single layer container building.The mechanical performance of container building is studied under service load and horizontal wind load,and its lateral,longitudinal side shift and bending all meet the side shift requirements.The stiffness of the building is great and the whole structure is in a safe condition;(4)This paper simulates and analyzes the multi layer container building through ABAQUS.Several 40 ft containers are combined into a multi layer container building.The mechanical performance of container building is studied under horizontal wind load and its stiffness decreases with the increasing layers.The lateral and longitudinal side shift all meet the side shift requirements and the whole structure is in a safe condition.According to the limit side shift of structure,the container building with this hole form can be built up to seven layers.
