With the rapid development of automobile industry and the gradual improvement of the people's living standard, people demand for bus or coach is no longer a pure pursuit of economy, power-performance, driving safety and ride comfort also pay more attention to. Compared with other types of buses, city bus drivers work longer hours, and the rapid development of city make traffic environment complicated, the city bus driver controls pedals, gearshift, and a variety of button controls such as a higher frequency. Good handling comfort not only relates to the driver's health, but also an important guarantee of driving safety, so handling comfort of the vehicle is particularly important.Traditional bus ergonomics design usually uses the two-dimensional plane human template to design, this human template is not only old but also does not conform to China's national conditions, some layout tools for bus is not applicable, the result is not intuitive and the precision is not high, at the same time, in addition to the evaluate method of joint Angle should be in suitable range, there is no other effective evaluation methods, so that the design of products is not often very desirable. The paper is based on an 12 m low entrance city bus of our company in the northeast and east China area as the research object, firstly analyses the H point location of bus drivers and the characteristic of driving posture, Induces and summarizes the practical application of methods and significance of ergonomics theory layout tools on the bus, provides an important theoretical basis for subsequent research.Through investigation of city bus driver personnel structure, with the help of RAMSIS rich human body model library, according to the target customers and vehicle development time and use life cycle, seven typical human body model of the city bus is established for checking, improves the precision of the checking results. At the same time the RAMSIS human body model and the traditional human two-dimensional template are compared and analyzed, found that the traditional two-dimensional templates with today's Chinese human body size there is a large gap, which provides theoretical basis for follow-up study.Good posture is the guarantee and premise of driving handling comfort, with the help of suitable for bus body posture model libraries which RAMSIS software provides, seven human body models are used separately to simulate and analysis about driving posture, and with the driver discomfort module to evaluate the driver sitting posture. And drew the location distribution graph of H points, eyespots, steering wheel grip point of Normal driving posture of the human body model, proves the correctness of the H point location distribution graph of the different percentile bus driver according to SAE mapping method, and improvement suggestions are put forward through the analysis results.Next to the manipulation comfort of the pedals and the gearshift is carried on the thorough research separately, the driver's manipulation gesture are simulated according to the driver's manipulation habit with RAMSIS software. The location of the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal and the clutch pedal, foot activity space, foot trample force, pedal travel, the shifting force and the movement space of the gearshift are analyzed and checked. The unreasonable design part of the clutch pedal and the gearshift were optimized and the results were verified. This method will be subjective posture analysis and objective quantitative mechanical analysis combined with each other, make up for the deficiency of the traditional evaluation method.Finally, a study of the handling comfort of the controls on the dashboard is made. Firstly summarizes the characteristic and the principle of layout design of city bus dashboard. Based on this idea, the instrument blind area, the font readability of the dashboard, the driver hand control reach, the visibility of controls and the reflective problem of luminous object are analyzed and checked with RAMSIS software, and dashboard layout improvement suggestions are put forward according to the analysis results. By means of contrasting the analysis results of the instrument blind area and the driver hand control reach based on RAMSIS and SAE, summed up the empirical design method of dashboard controls layout of the city bus, can provide the reference for the subsequent development of new products.
