In order to analyze and research on the propulsion system of large container vessel,"19000TEU" container vessel was taken as the research object,on which a model of propulsion system including diesel engine system,propeller characteristic and matching about ship-engine-propeller is built and simulation is carried out.The diesel model is based on the MAN 12S90ME which is low speed and two-stroke diesel engine.In this paper,the mathematical model of the diesel engine system,including cylinder,intake and exhaust system,turbocharger and intercooler,is carried out according to modularization.Among them,the simulation of the cylinder thermal process use zero-dimensional model,and the model of the intake and exhaust system use the principle of volume method.In addition,in order to calculate the torque of the diesel engine,a motion model of the crank connection rod is established.At the same time,for the ME series diesel engine,the simulink model of hydraulic cylinder unit(HCU)is built,including the fuel injection system and the exhaust valve system.The propeller model,in order to adapt to a wider range of operating conditions,applies a four-quadrant characteristics model.In the simulation,the Chebyshev polynomial fitting method is utilized to express the Nordstrom propeller atlas across four quadrant,and the results are modified according to the particular parameters of the propeller.In order to emphasize the key point and simplify the operation,the model of ship motion only considers the one-dimensional sailing characteristic.Appling the MATLAB/Simulink,the model of propulsion system is verified,and the results are compared with the ship trial data.Simulation results show that the model has particular accuracy and meet the requirement of the system.Based on the accurate model,a visualization software based on WPF technology is developed by Microsoft Visual Studio 2013.The software,easy to operate and human-computer interaction friendly,can be more intuitive to monitor the operation status and parameters of the propulsion system.This simulation platform not only can be used for the performance analysis of the propulsion system,but also can be used to train.
