Along with world trade policies,containerization and the increasing ship sizes over the years,the seaborne trade increase sharply.The biggest ships today are capable of carrying 19,000 TEUs and the very large crude carry(VLCC)can contain 400 thousand DWT,and this has limited the number of ports that can serve them across the world.The waterway links the anchorage and berth,but it has become the bottle-neck of the whole supply chain.With the construction and expansion of waterways,the out-of-date waterway management method cannot satisfy the increasing traffic density.Therefore,the paper now focuses on the vessel scheduling optimsation method based on compound waterway in Tianjin seaport and the research work is listed below:1.Analysis the vessel regulation rules in the compound waterway and the core research orientation is determined.Through analyzing the regulation rules,the operational flow and requirement of the compound channel can be understood.The vessel property,Y cross area coordination principles can be determined.The standard of big vessel and small vessel in 29#buoy and the combination of vessel in 39#can be defined by the rules.The theory analysis can lay a good foundation for the mathematical model.2.Building the vessel scheduling optimisation model under the compound waterway.Starting from the real scheduling problem,two objectives:overall scheduling time and overall waiting time are built.Per the vessel type together with vessel length and breadth,the vessel who can be assigned to transit by the small vessel waterway or the vessel who can be allocated to transit by the main channel are also determined.Under the foundation of the vessel class,the scheduling number is assigned to the vessel following the vessel inbound or outbound,docking berth and direction.Considering the class A vessel who cannot transit at any time due to its drought,the rules require the class A vessel has a priority.Therefore,the special constraint to the class A is designed.Considering the scheduling consecutiveness,the consecutiveness constraints for the vessel are designed when vessel arrive at the 29#buoy,39#buoy and Y cross area.At the same time,the vessel transits into the channel is a decelerate or accelerate process when entering the water/leaving the port.Due to the different types of vessels,this paper designs a data mining and filtering algorithm to choose the right AIS data.After getting these data,the different tonnage and different type of vessel’s speed can be calculated per the statistics results.3.Designing the compound waterway scheduling multi-objective genetic algorithm(CWSGA).Due to constraints and multi-process in the mathematic problems,this paper design 4 layers’ chromosome to express each vessel’s character.The ranker and crowd-distance algorithm are adapted in the algorithm.4.Case study of vessel scheduling in Tianjin seaport.To verify the algorithm and model,the scheduling data in 11th,March,2015 together with the simulation data is being used to assess the algorithm performance and the results are fitted with the reality scheduling results.
