During the design process, in addition to the requirements of power and economy and other vital performance of the car, the same could be measured during the operation of their sound and vibration of indicators to determine the quality of the car. Important components of rear axle as car chassis system, the gear vibration is one of the main sources of noise generated by car.Hypoid gear has the following advantages:the drive in a pair of concave and convex tooth profile of cycloid engagement, and that the contact stress is small, wear uniform; coincidence degree big, better bending strength; because there is no undercutting case the emergence of a minimum number of teeth is not limited, so this kind of gear structure is relatively compact; because processing is a continuous indexing a fixture to complete the processing,gears manufacture of high precision. The operation of the gear noise is mainly related to its transmission error, so in product design phase, combination with the characteristics of high gear mesh smooth transmission analysis software simulation analysis and optimization of gear transmission error, on the basis of the analysis results to improve design parameters, can effectively reduce the gear meshing vibration, thus achieve the goal of reducing driving axle interior noise.To improve the stability and reduce the noise of the automobile during the runtime, attempts on the designation and analysis are finished for the hypoid gear pair of the driving axle. The main contents are:1. The structures, function and its characteristic of the driving axle are introduced for the automobile. The classification and characteristics of the gear in axle is shown. Then the function of the tooth surface parameters and analysis methods of the results are reviewed for the hypoid gear which is chosen for the driving axle.2. Application of Gear Engineering CAGE4Win Gleason gear design software, to design and analysis the early design of hypoidgear.Then detail description on the function and method of application for the software.3. According to the design requirements of the hypoid pear of drive axle for R101-15type mini-car, hypoid pair is designed with Gleason software. Then works on the analysis of the transmission performance for the gear train with ROMAX is done to provide suggest for the optimization of the hypoid gear pair.
