Analysis And Protection Strategy Of Wetland Resources In Huxian Of Xi’an City

The wetland, which is considered as the "kidney of the earth" by the scientists, owns the unique natural landscape with a strong regulatory capacity. In addition, the wetland is one of the strategic natural resources needed by the survival and development of a country. And it is as important as the military, political and economic security of a country.Huxian in Xi’an is rich in wetland resources, but because of many local people’s intervention activities, such as the wetland reclamation and discharging the waste water, the system function of the wetland there has declined, its area has been reduced, and the biodiversity there has decreased. It is obvious that the regional ecological security in Huxian has been affected, which has caused the local government to attach great importance to the wetland.This research report is based on the relevant regulations of the wetland research and the remote sensing image of Huxian in Xi’an. By using the "3S" method, literature method, field survey method, the researcher analyzed and evaluated the wetland resources in this area, and finally proposed the strategies of wetland protection and management. The conclusion of the research is as follows:Firstly, the result of the survey showed that wetland of the rivers in Huxian covers 83.44% of the whole wetland there, which takes the highest proportion among other wetland in Huxian. Then, the artificial wetland comes second, accounting for 15.29% of the whole wetland. The lake wetland accounts for 1.27%, which is the least one of the three.Secondly, the wetland in Weihe, Lao river, Taiping River, Tanyu River should be put as the protected area. Also, some key areas should be under absolute protection. For the source of river wetland, the mixed forest of natural forest and artificial forest can be used to strengthen the protection of the wetland. What’s more, the chemical process and the characteristics of the plants can be used to absorb the harmful substances. Moreover, the restoration of wetland can be achieved by using ecological ways.
