As the group who live here and the society of this group, the researching for the society of the traditional community space is a important position as which can be comprehended the reservation of the live quality and traditional spirit, from the conflict function aspect,not only this paper providing basis and thoughts for the type of the group interaction in different space form,but also for the suitability of space. Therefore, to pay attention to the suitability of the social groups is an context of the space revival which from a conflict function aspect.This paper use a conflict function aspect to realize the problem, which of the space suitability and different interaction type of the groups that under different ways of the space reconstruction, and to realize how to make good use of the conflict function to develop the spirit of this place with the appropriate space constructing. And the purpose was carried out four point:(1) Arrangement of the urban renewal theory with researching the literature, analysis of the space suitability and comprehension of the related measurement of the city plans, policy or the theory to be planted as the first step.(2) As the conflict function aspect, this paper consider the avoid of the conflict of the society is the rigid one, whereas it may be a health social space when it can tolerance a lots of relationship of the groups, which can be a stable type system, and this system are also related with the suitability and the legitimacy of the space.(3) The theory of the suitability and legitimacy of the space are apply for the research of the traditional community in Shan Tou, After a serious of literature researching, space analysis, the value investigate of the local people, a conclusion which the tolerance principle of the local people and the legitimacy of the space that need to be protected were obtain.(4) The problem of that the space requirement were satisfied by the minimal tolerant of thelocal people is the point of that which can play the role as the positive function of the social conflict. It is also an major point to develop the spirit of the place.
