Due to the driving comfort, low noise, easy of repairment and maintenance, asphalt pavement has been widely used, and it has become major pavement structure type of China's highways and heavy traffic road. The asphalt pavement accounts for more than 80% in the built highway. As an important part of the asphalt mixture, the quality of aggregate will directly affect the quality of asphalt mixture, thereby it will affect the quality and performance of the road.At present, aggregate of the engineering construction were mostly came from the social quarry, the quality and the specification of each social quarry were uneven, This was mainly reflected that the material source control is not strict, the material is not clean, dust is many, the content of flakiness is excessive, the gradation is not specifications. Therefore, in order to improve the construction quality of asphalt pavement, effective measures should be taken to control the selection of aggregate material sources and to standardize the aggregate processing technology, especially for the technological selection and the selection of processing machinery of asphalt pavement gravel processing.To study the asphalt aggregate processing technology and equipment selection, firstly, investigate and survey were taken from part of gravel processing plants in Gansu Province, aggregate processing equipment and processing technology used today were collected, and these rock resources were organized. Secondly, the aggregate processing efficiency was improved and the resource utilization was also improved through the research of characteristics of various types of processing equipment and adjusting processing parameters. Finally, preferred processing technic of aggregate processing and the quality inspection index and frequency of aggregate were proposed through the research of the performance indicators of aggregate, which will provide a reference for the latter aggregate production.Researches show that it should be noticed that the physical properties of rocks should be analyzed in the aggregate production, and processing characteristics of machinery should be compared. The proposed aggregate production line in this paper can increase aggregate productivity and quality passing rate, which plays a role in improving the quality of the asphalt mixture, and then improving the quality of asphalt pavement.
