Research On Control And Continuity Of Urban Landscape Character From The Perspective Of Heritage Protection

In the past few decades, heritage has experienced antiquity maintenance to historical environment preservation, and now the scope of historical environment protection has expend to more board geographical environment, the content and scope of historical heritage has been much bigger than before. "historical and cultural heritage" constitute the main component of urban landscape character, heritage protection development process makes the scope of the heritage protection being much bigger which is benefit to the protection of the landscape character of historical feature district. So research on control and continuity of urban landscape character from the perspective of heritage protection is correspond to the world ’s heritage protection development process, and this is the starting point of this paper. This article start with the aggregation morphology of urban heritage, divided Chinese famous historical and cultural cities into four types, and discuss the way how to control and continue of urban landscape character on the basis of heritage protection.This article has nine chapters. The first chapter introduces the research background, purpose, significance, research innovations, research methods, research contents, distinction of concept, framework and research problem. The second chapter sort out the overseas review about historic protection and practice of landscape character, also sort out the domestic research about heritage protection and landscape character. The third chapter describes the basic knowledge of landscape character and the development tendency of historic heritage protection, and then divided Historic Cultural Cities into four types which taking heritage distribution form as standard, they are “multipoint type”、“ piece area type”、“collage type” and “integrity type”, then describe features of the four types Historic Cultural Cities. Thereinto, “multipoint type” means urban historical heritage mainly distributed in the form of "points", most of the “points” has weak space connection; “ piece area type” means the layout and features of the ancient city does not exist already, but still leave some historical feature areas, and these areas are scattered; “collage type” means parts of the ancient city are well-preserved, so historical parts relatively compact, historical elements and modern elements present hodgepodge state; “integrity type” means the layout and features of the ancient city are in good keep which can adopt overall protection.The fourth、 fifth、sixth and seventh chapter is the core of the thesis chapters, discusses the control and continuity ways of urban landscape character about “multipoint type”、“ piece area type”、“collage type” and “integrity type” Historic Cultural Cities respectively. The eighth chapter summarized the full text, mainly conclude the methodology of the four types Historic Cultural Cities on control and continuity of urban landscape character. Overall, “multipoint type” cites stress protection and creation; “piece area type” cites stress protection and connection; “collage type” cites stress protection and continuity; “integrity type” cites stress protection and guidance.Discuss on the control and continuity of urban landscape character from the perspective of heritage distribution form is a further study of the existing planning theory, and provide certain reference for correlation urban design and conservation planning.
