The Research On The Protection Of Cultural Heritage In The Renew Of Old City

With the rapid development of Chinese economy and population surge, urbanization has become the main trend of social development. And most cities in China are facing the task of reconstructing old cities. The compensated use of land, the reform of the housing system and the introduction of large amount of foreign capital bring new driving force and opportunity to the reconstruction of old cities. And with the establishment of market economy system and the development of real estate, people driven by large amout of economy profit begin to reconstruct the old city blindly. Meanwhile the reconstruction also causes great damage to the historical and cultural heritage. China is one of the countries whose cultural heritage is badly damaged. We are always disturbed by some problems, such as the damage of traditional historical scenes and humanity landscape in old districts, the aging of material environment and the disappearance of historical and cultural features. We should regain the prosperity of old cities in their former days, protect their cultural heritage properly, and increase their spiritual function, which has become a new subject in the study of the development of cities in the world. So there exists more practical significance in the study of protecting cultural heritage in the process of reconstructing old cities.On the basis of the study of the development of cities and the reconstruction of old cities, the paper focuses on the analysis of protecting the historical and cultural heritage in the process of reconstructing old cities and its current status of the research at home and abroad. By borrowing the successful domestic and overseas experience, the author divides three layers in the protection of cultural heritage in the cities of our country, states the principle and makes a conclusion of the problems in it.The paper makes an analysis of the current status of the development of Baoding and its historical and cultural features. And it also illustrates three models of the reconstuction of old cities and one of the protection of the western historical street. At the end of the paper, the author makes a conclusin, gives some suggestion and manages to find a useful way to speed up the development of the city.
