Control loading system is one of the key mechanisms in a flight simulator whose function is to simulate a real force sense for the pilot during the controlling of the driving devices(mainly referring to control rod, steering wheel, pedals). A reaction force of the driving mechanisms imposed on the pilot is generated by the control loading system. The fidelity of the simulated force sense is an important parameter for flight training level on a flight simulator.Through the summary and analysis of all types of the existing control loading mechanism of flight simulator control loading system, insufficiencies and drawbacks are found and problems are defined. Given the problems, the characteristics to be possessed and the objectives to be achieved of the new control loading mechanism are formulated.Through comparison and analysis, the overall design plan is determined and sketch of the mechanism is drawn; further detailed design and calculations are performed;Three-dimensional and two-dimensional drawings are created.With the three-dimensional modeling results submitted to UG8.0 dynamics simulation environment, dynamics simulation and analysis is performed and the simulation results are obtained in order to verify the kinematic feasibility and dynamic feasibility.In accordance with the three-dimensional modeling results and related dynamics simulation results, finite element analysis of the key non-standard parts and components is performed based on the NX Nastran. The results of finite element analysis are obtained; the parts and components which are not in compliance with the allowable stress and allowable deformation quantity are founded and optimizing design is performed to get them meet the requirements in order to enable the mechanism to satisfy the material strength and stiffness requirement.According to the characteristics of the mechanism when the functions are executed, an improved PID control algorithm is designed and applied to the mechanism. Through the simulation of the designed control model by LabVIEW platform in the computer, the feasibility of the proposed control algorithm is verified.Finally the demonstration of the feasibility of the mechanism is achieved and the prospectof technologies of flight simulator related to control loading system is proposed.
