With the gradual opening up of China's low-altitude airspace, flight demand for general aviation increases sharply. As an important system protecting the safety of navigation, airborne navigation system has become increasingly prominent. Considering that general aviation aircraft is characterized with variety, small size, and low price, general aviation requests new requirements for mobility, portability and flexibility of airborne systems.This thesis proposes a design for portable general aviation navigation and communication services by analyzing the general aviation requirements for the portability of navigation and communication technology. Combined with features of Android system, airborne navigation and position report system for general aviation based on Android is designed with the framework and application components of Android operation system.Firstly, in order to achieve the navigation function, the system locates the aircraft in the air route map, and uses air route map to provide navigation data. To achieve navigation and positioning, this thesis complete the air route map calibration using fitting algorithm, translating latitude and longitude coordinates to pixel coordinates of the air route map. Simulation results show that the fitting algorithm has high precision and is capable of meeting the need of calibration.Secondly, due to the large amounts of data of an air route map, this thesis uses quadtree algorithm to manage the air route map in order to save memory space occupied by the system by having the air route map cut and layered, which ensures the stability of the system.Thirdly, on the basis of calibration and quadtree management of air route map, the system takes air route map as the background, and aircraft is positioned on the air route map; and the system updates the location of aircraft on the air route map by translation, rotation of air route map.Finally, this thesis designs the function of position reporting, which sends the aircraft's flight information using short message services of Android system to achieve communication service. As a supplement to the function of navigation, the function of position reporting ensures flight safety effectively.Based on the above work, airborne navigation and position report system for general aviation based on Android is completed. The result is proven that this design can meet the needs of general aviation for navigation and communication, and the function of this system is strong and stable with a high research value and practical significance.
