Research On Visual Quality Of The Natural Landscape Along Chinese Eastern Railway

Chinese Eastern Railway embodies the material evidences of industrialization and modernization process in the early 20th century, along which a large number of rail material and non-material heritage left, which were connected by the railway line as landscape resources, forming a special kind of linear cultural landscape heritage in northeast China. However, the protection and management of Chinese Eastern Railway, especially those of natural landscape along the line exist many problems.Through investigation to natural landscape resources along Chinese Eastern Railway main line, cognize and classify the natural landscape along the railway; build a natural landscape along railway visual quality evaluation model to research the visual quality of natural landscape along Chinese Eastern Railway main line. This paper is a landscape cognition study with the aim of protecting the landscape along Chinese Eastern Railway.This study bases on the research project of establishment of Chinese Eastern Railway industrial cultural landscape heritage corridor, from the perspective of natural landscape cognition in natural system, to solve the problems which are "what does the natural landscape along Chinese Eastern Railway main line look like?" and "how is the quality of the natural landscape along Chinese Eastern Railway main line?", to provide basic research data for heritage corridor construction and tourism resource development. It starts with the background and introduces related concept about the landscape along Chinese Eastern Railway, natural landscape and visual quality, and then reviews related research progress of Chinese Eastern Railway, railway heritage landscape and visual quality.First, investigation methods and classification methods about natural landscape along railways are analyzed comprehensively to find out some investigation methods such as research material collection methods, field investigation, RS and GIS technology and some classification methods like natural landscape method, characteristics generalization, ordered sample cluster analysis and so on. Analyze the characteristics of research objects in this paper comprehensively, under the guidance of final research aim and later research needs, determine investigation and classification methods of the natural landscape along Chinese Eastern Railway main line, and take the research object for practice, and arrive at the investigation results and the classification results of natural landscape along the railways. Chinese Eastern Railway main line natural landscape was divided into four landscape sections, which is Hulun Buir high plain and hills landscape section, the Greater hinggan mountains landscape section, Northeast plain landscape section and Eastern mountains landscape section, which is further divided to 12 secondary landscape subsections. Characteristics of various landscape types are researched respectively, comparing domestic similar natural landscape along railways to obtain the overall landscape characteristics and to solve the problem of "what does the natural landscape along Chinese Eastern Railway main line look like?"With 12 landscape types of typical landscape, Scenic beauty evaluation are made. And in view of seasonal change factors, the evaluation results showed that there are 17 in first class of landscape quality,10 in second class,17 in third class and 4 in fourth class. Among them, Changbai middle mountains autumn landscape gets the highest scenery quality score as a landscape type. In landscape visual sensitivity evaluation, there are 2 in first class,4 in second class,1 in third class and 5 in fourth class, among which the greater hinggan middle mountains landscape gets the highest score of visual sensitivity. The problem of "how is the quality of the natural landscape along Chinese Eastern Railway main line?" is solved.
