Abstract/Summary:
In this globalization age, culture exchanges between different countries all over the world are getting more frequent while city construction in China also is in the procession of development and city sight is drawing more attention from both government and people.However, city sight construction, due to many factors, does not go the right way as it should be. For example, we pay more attention on its external while ignore its culture content. So city characteristics are becoming less distinguishing and the phenomenon of"thousands of cities show the same appearance"is everywhere. Therefore, the brand new topic of how to create city construction with china characteristics and the one which combine contemporary age and culture background is facing with us. This paper is begin with natural conditions and social customs of a place to study modern times design for city sight with china characteristics in hope that a complete theory framework to the problems of it can be found.With the arrival of city sight construction design unfolding unstoppably, the role of the designers is more to keep zone features and history consistent and catch its values in contemporary time than to design and create various sights. This paper researches sight development history after defining and analyzing some relative concepts and elaborates the relation between natural conditions and social customs of a place and modern city sight design. By explaining natural conditions and social customs of a place's inheritance, development and representation in modern sight design, the paper gives detailed solutions and narrates the example, trying to apply the above-mentioned solutions to real practice.
