| With the continuous improvement of computer performance, the development of hydrodynamic is becoming increasingly mature, the research of rudder airfoil based on hydrodynamic theory is deepening. In order to improve the performance of sailing ships and submarines, various forms of rudder airfoil is being put forward constantly. This paper focuses on the hydrodynamic performance advantage of efficient rudder, under the different angles of attack in status of the incompressible fluid. Meanwhile, the rudder’s hydrodynamic performance of different linear form was explored in this paper.This paper introduces the theoretical basis of numerical simulation, we compared the accuracy of different turbulence models on the rudder model simulation and chose the SST k-ω turbulence model so that we can better simulate the rudder hydrodynamic performance. At the same time, referring to the test data of the pool of Taylor, numerical simulation for trapezoidal rudder is carried out in the test, by comparing the simulation results with the experimental data, the accuracy of the numerical simulation turbulence model is verified. The parametric modeling method and Latin hypercube sampling method is adopted in this paper, based on the characteristics of efficient rudder line parameter space, the CATIA was used to build the three-dimensional model, the ICEM CFD was used to generate the grid structure, the FLUENT was used to simulate hydrodynamic performance of the rudder. Through series of highly efficient numerical simulation of model rudder, determining that the efficient rudder airfoil parameters affect the regularity of its hydrodynamic performance. In order to study hydrodynamic characteristics of efficient rudder in condition of large rudder angle, the flow field near the rudder and efficient distribution was analyzed.Finally, through the numerical simulation of hydrodynamic coefficients of efficient rudder and conventional rudder, the hydrodynamic performance of efficient rudder and hydrodynamic coefficients conventional rudder is compared. At the meanwhile, open-water test of both rudders are conducted in the towing tank, including the establishment of the test model, determination of test condition, installation of model,. Compared with the results of numerical simulation and open water test, different hydrodynamic performance between conventional rudder and efficient rudder was explored, and the hydrodynamic performance of efficient rudder is proved more advantageous. |
