There exists an important relationship between industrial relics and urban industrial context. On the background of Retreat into the Three in our country, it has some reference significance for analyzing the forefathers' theory research and practice cases of industrial relics, exploring the protection and regeneration of industrial relics and probing how to inject new vitality into national industrial relics resource, making it can inherit the urban industrial context and providing design method of regeneration and reuse in industrial relics.Firstly, the related study background and concepts regarding industrial relics is summarized, the study purpose, importance and method regarding industrial relics is illustrated. By comparing the regeneration and reuse of domestic and overseas large-span monolayer workshop between the related theory research and engineering practice, the theoretical approaches and practice inspiration of update mode can be obtained.Secondly, in the case of the industrial relics in Xiangtan city, probing the consensus methods of update mode. By establishing a classified update and reusemechanism of large-span monolayer industrial relics, the assessment method and classified update strategy of industrial relics is confirmed and the classified update method of industrial relics is discussed.Thirdly, the recycle strategy of large-span monolayer industrial relics in industrial relics is discussed in detail. And then discussing from the four ways,including the choice and development of regeneration and reuse mode, architectural exterior and internal design guide and landscape and environment design.Finally, Analyzing the status of recycle about industrial relics in Xiangtan city and using the method of update and recycle mode. Taking the monolayer workshop of old power plant in Xiangtan city for instance, the power plant is designed in renewal from four aspects: functional orientation; architectural exterior design guide; architectural internal design guide and landscape and environment design,verifying the method of update mode and arriving at the conclusion of update mode of large-span monolayer industrial workshop.
