The Study Of Conservation And Reuse Of Industrial Heritage Of Nanjing Jiangnan Cement Factory

Since the industrial restructuring from the 1990 s, a large number of industrial enterprises began to move away from urban center, resulting in a large number of idle and abandoned industrial heritage, which brings severe problems to social development and urban renewal. In this background, taking the Nanjing Jiangnan Cement Factory as object, through the analysis of the existing problems of industrial heritage as well as the relevant experience in domestic and foreign industrial heritage regeneration and reuse, the paper attempts to put forward a proper strategy on protection and reconstruction, so as to form an initial scheme on conservation and reuse of industrial heritage.The paper mainly consists of five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, mainly about the meaning of the selected title in academic study, the background and related research both at home and abroad in industrial heritage, and defines the conceptions used in this paper.The second chapter has discussed the result of the Jiangnan Cement Factory field investigation. The author compares the history and the present situation of industrial heritage resources, assesses the value of the industrial heritage in Jiangnan Cement Factory, analyzes its existing problems and contradictions in the conservation and reuse.The third chapter analyses the strategy that could be taken in Jiangnan Cement Factory industrial heritage reset, land properties, function transformation. Domestic and foreign related cases are also been taken to illustrate the feasibility and development prospect of the strategy.The fourth chapter focuses on the present situation of the monomer architecture and the landscape in Jiangnan Cement Factory, brings a design of industrial heritage conservation and reuse to the classification of industrial architecture monomer and the industrial landscape conservation and reuse of the west regions. The design can provide an useful reference for the conservation and renewal of the factory, as well as other large-scale industrial heritage in domestic.The fifth chapter is the conclusion. This part fully summarizes a variety of value of the industrial heritage in Jiangnan Cement Factory, and puts forward strategies and design schemes on the conservation and reuse of all levels of cultural relic architecture. This part tries to put forward some suggestions on transforming the industrial heritage into a sustainable urban open space with industrial characters. At the end of this part, the deficiencies in the current research of the paper are also been pointed out.
