Railway survey and design in wind-drift sand region featured long working cycles, frequent surveys and complexity of design. The management model integrating railway survey and design in wind-drift sand region with project standardization was one of the effective means for improving the quality and reducing the cost of surveying and designing as well as economizing the use of human resources. Therefore, it is very necessary to carry out research on management of railway surveying and designing in wind-drift sand region.This paper uses the basic theory and method of project management, combined with the management features of railway survey and design, especially the design management of the wind-drift sand region, and discusses the project management. It puts the survey and design project management in wind-drift sand region of the Lhasa-Shigatse railway as the engineering background, aiming at the special geological environment, special natural condition, and the work system, environmental protection design, safety design, and management of engineering design and management as the main factors in the plateau area and wind-drift sand area. Based on the experience and understanding of the management of the project management of the Lhasa-Shigatse railway survey and design, the suggestions for work of the railway survey and design project is put forward. This paper provides a method of standardization management of railway survey and design. After the implementation of the railway survey and design project, the management method is feasible,Such mechanisms were worth to be promoted in similar survey and design projects.
