In recent years, as population of the old citizen is growing, the society-aging problem becomes more and more obvious. Meanwhile the economy of the society increasing rapidly, as the result the consumption capacity of the elderly is greatly enhanced. However, the structure space of the existing commercial buildings could not meet the consumption demands. Therefore the architecture designing for older citizens should be considered nowadays. The architecture designing for older citizens, just as its name implies, is the design that fits the aged society. It proposes a designing method of every house and public building, such as market, hospital, and school, which could fully consider the physical function and acting characteristics of the aged. The accessible designing is only one part of architecture designing for older citizens, or it is the necessary condition. The research of architecture designing for older citizens should firstly consider the physical demands, mental demands, behavior habits, and perceived feelings of the aged. For the physiological considerations, the designing should adapt to the physical disorders and chronic diseases of the aged as their physical bodies are weakened. For the mental considerations, the designing should prevent the aged from the negative moods. For the behaved considerations, the designing should meet the habits and actions of the aged. For the feeling considerations, the designing should consider the environmental psychology, which could build a cheerful mood for the aged. This article discusses how to apply the structural methods to achieve the architecture designing for older citizens. By considering the environmental psychology, and combining behavior, sociology, gerontology and other related theories, the field investigation, issuing questionnaires and other methods are put forward to study the behavior characteristics and psychological characteristics of the elderly. Due to the analysis of the shortcomings that existing malls of indoor and outdoor space ignore architecture designing for older ci tizens, the basic principle, design strategy and specific design methods of aging design are summarized to build the commercial spaces, which are more suitable for the elderly, and those could meet commercial needs of the growing elderly consumers.
