The process of urbanization in contemporary China is developing at a high speed.At the social level,the two-child policy is progressing steadily and the fourth wave of baby boomers is approaching.At the economic level,the experience economy that substitutes the traditional economic models such as product,commodity and service economy has become the mainstream model.At the professional level,shopping malls are constantly developing and renewing as an representation of emerging commercial buildings.Under these social,economic and professional backgrounds,the proportion of children format in shopping malls is gradually increasing,the field of children format is expanding,and the types of children format tend to be diversified.However,in the process of allocation of children business in shopping malls at present,there are still many problems,such as the homogenization of format types,simplification of commercial combination,formality of architectural forms and service concept hollowing out,etc.Additionally,the domestic theoretical studies on the planning and design of children commercial space in shopping malls are extremely deficient,imperfect and unsystematic.In this regard,this paper is going to deeply classify and analyze the children business in contemporary shopping malls from three design aspects,which include the format setting and configuration,space design and organization,image creation and expression,based on domestic and foreign related cases.To start with,the introduction section presents the social,economic and professional backgrounds of the subject research,summarizes the relevant research results in China and abroad,states the purpose and significance of the research,and explains the research contents and methods.Then,According to shopping mall as the research carrier,children business as the research receptor,the existing design theories and design specifications,Chapter 2 takes basic research,elaborates the current design situation,and indicates the problems existing in children business in shopping malls.As the research emphasis,Chapter 3 analyzes the related factors affecting the commercial configuration.It analyzes the setting and configuration strategy of children format from three aspects,namely,commercial proportion,commercial combination and commercial distribution.Chapter 4 classifies the basic principles,and studies on the spatial design and organization on two levels:the spatial design of different functional space types and the spatial organization based on streamline,node and atmosphere.Chapter 5 summarizes the image creation and expression of children commercial space in shopping malls based on volume and shape,elevation and epidermis,and media and promotion.Furthermore,Chapter 6 selects the local traditional shopping malls--Nanjing Golden Eagle Shopping Mall B block,family shopping mall--Nanjing UniMall and parent-child amusement theme shopping mall--Nanjing Leji Square as three different types of cases to have field research and concretization study,and to confirms theories and viewpoints above mentioned.Finally,the conclusion chapter summarizes the specific design strategies of the format configuration,the spatial organization and the image expression of children business in shopping malls.It points out that there are shortcomings and deficiencies in this study,and attempts to expect the prospect of the development,which is the end of the study.This thesis hopes through the above analysis,to establish a preliminary theoretical platform,to fill the academic blank that is a social hot topic in architectural studies,and to attract the attention to the planning and design problems of children business in shopping malls.It lays the foundation and provide ideas for the research of other scholars,not only provides the feasible suggestions for the planning and design of children business in current shopping malls,but also puts forward reasonable prediction for the future development trend.
