Coal-fired hot water boiler is high-risk equipment with a high temperature. All kinds of problems emerged during the operation of the running of the boiler. Operation accident may occur with improper control behavior. In order to make coal-fired hot water boiler operating personnel’s technical training and credential acquisition done well, the design of training and examining system to simulate the actual coal-fired hot water boiler scenario has great significance.Traditional training methods are provided with emphasizing theoretical learning and weaken actual operation of boiler site. Aimed at trainees’ poor operation capacity and troubleshooting capacity with traditional training methods, the thesis proposed the simulating training system with hot water boiler physical model. The model is the prototype of actual boiler, scaled down with the ratio of 1:3. The model’s control system and control scheme is consistent with the actual boiler system. The model is equipped with teacher training machine operation software, is capable of simulating training for coal-fired hot water boiler’s inspection, ignition, adjustment, shutdown and accident. The main contributions are as follows,(1)The model uses the PLC of Omron CS1G-CPU42 E as the control core, is equipped with digital input and output modules, analog input and output modules, communication module, relay, and so on. The training and examining system’s control scheme is designed for Coal-fired hot water boiler. According to the control scheme, the digital input and output schematic diagrams, the analog input and output schematic diagrams, the control of power system schematic diagram and terminal connection schematic diagram are designed respectively. According to the schematic diagram and control cabinet’s assembly drawing, the installation, connection and commissioning of the control cabinet is executed for training and examining system of coal-fired hot water boiler.(2)Writing the control software for lower machine, including the system’s flow control, start and stop for various motor, interlocking/unlocking and frequency control, start and stop for pump, frequency control, data collection of field device operation state, data show for field instrumentation, and data exchange with PC.(3)Configuration software is adopted to design the training and examining system’s human and machine interface, including inspection, flow of stream and water, ignition, monitoring, settings alarm parameters and displaying alarm status. The software works with field physical model as a trainee operation platform.
