Residential areas where human settlement,is what human live on and wish to enhance its function and landscape constantly.Residential area is an important part of the whole city.Environmental advantages and disadvantages of green residential area,directly affects the quality of the living environment of residents and the city’s ecological environment.Initially as a residential area’s plant scenery design of subsidiary building and development today is increasingly being paid attention.As people’s living standards increasing the living requirements of the people has gone beyond the original "home" category.In the pursuit of building construction quality at the same time,people pay more attention to the living environment and atmosphere,especially plant landscape effects.The winter in Daqing is long and cold and the soil is poor and rich in saline-alkali so that the plant applications have both features in cold and saline-alkali soil area.Research on the application and landscape of plants of residential district in Daqing City is of both great significance for the same things in saline-alkali soil area and in cold region.This paper,took plants application and landscaping of residential district in Daqing City as the main object of study,guided by the theory like aesthetic,environmental psychology,plant ecology,plant and garden planning and design and so on.Research method was the summary of literature review,field surveys,comparative,instances,etc.For Daqing residential area exists problems like:plant application species less,overall green rate shrink,the green species applicated in residential area is below City Green ones;plant species select improper,transplant or trim plastic plants blindly,eventually led to plant growth bad,difficult reached expected of landscape effect;missing "humanized" concept,with hedge trimmer or fence separated greens,makes visitors cannot close to green;lack research on plant related knowledge and technology;local characteristics not prominent and plant of Daqing insufficient content mining on,combined with the natural environment,social environment,the actual situation in Daqing City,put forward the scientific selection of plants,abundant plant species,focusing on seasonal effects,rich green in winter,people-oriented plant layout optimization,improving cultivation and conservation techniques,highlighting local characteristics such as plant in Daqing City and countermeasures for landscape and elementsFinally,took Dawn community landscape design for an example for instance illustration.
