The Healing Garden Design On A Rooftop Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital In Zhengzhou

Setting rooftop greening and healing gardening in one,rooftop healing garden is a roof greening type which benefits city beautification,realizes ecological benefit,and helps the human health both physically and mentally.It can effectively solve the paradox of the lack of civic green land in the urbanization process while people need a place for healing body and mind.This paper studied the theories and cases of rooftop garden and healing garden,in-depth analyzed and summarize the overseas outstanding design method,then put forward the main point of general design of the rooftop healing garden,including the differences from ordinary roof garden,the general design principles and main points of the building partition,and the application form of culture of traditional Chinese medicine in rooftop healing garden.Based on the previous theoretical research results of rooftop healing garden,this paper applied them to the design of the inpatient building’s roof garden of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in RuHe road of Zhengzhou.Through field investigation and present situation analysis,this design merges the concept of the healing garden ingeniously to the site,to create a landscape space for five senses experiencing including vision,hearing,smell,taste,and touch,equipped gardening operation fields with facilities,to meet horticulture activities in the process of using healing garden and provides more possibilities of participation.In addition,based on the field characteristics of traditional Chinese medical hospital,this design applied the Chinese herbal medicine plant to the five senses area and Chinese herbal medicine plant garden,which renders the garden capable of auxiliary rehabilitation function,promoting science education and cultural inheritance.Rooftop healing garden has a broad prospect in our country,and hopefully this study can provide some reference to the theory and design of rooftop healing garden.
