With the high speed development and wide application of high technology, variety of virtual reality technologies has been found. As the most practical one between them, immersive virtual reality system is in general use of worldwide. It is a topical, advanced virtual reality system. As a important application of virtual reality technology, virtual cockpit display system is the frontier technology of military and aerospace with broad prospects.Based on the research of virtual reality technology?Enhanced Vision System? synthetic vision system?virtual intrument simulation technology?scene visualization technology and so on, this paper made a deep research on the design and simulation of virtual cockpit display system. On the virtual instrument simulation, this paper told the modeling process of aviation instruments, concrete steps of modeling and the drive of virtual instrument. Practice shows that the cockpit meter model described in the article is easy to maintain, of good portability, and has high realistic simulation results. After that, this paper proposed a virtual cockpit display system meeting the high demands of modern fighter cockpit after the research of virtual cockpit building, which is called Four-screen display. The design patterns of Four-screen display system reflect the complexity and diversification of cockpit display information. It can provide intuitive visual effects. Pilot can get information as altitude, speed, heading, level information of the fighter from the display interface directly. And this would reduce the load of pilot greatly, and the aviation accidents would be reduced ether. The simulation results indicate that Four-screen display system is intuitive, clear, smooth and real.
