With the concept of smart grid put forward, transformer substation gradually develops from the digitized substation to the intelligent one. The intelligentialization, networking, integration of the intelligent substation are obvious features that differ from that of other periods.As an important information source and a command executor of smart grid, the intelligent substation is a significant link of a series of actions to realize the dispatch, control and protection of grid. And it determines whether the intelligent substation network communication system can have a safe and steady operation or not.With the rapid development of Internet technology, some hackers maliciously destruct network system security, and data transmission of the transformer substation also face security threats such as hacking, counterfeiting, tampering and denial and so on. The current response to threats cannot meet the requirements of transmission.To solve the current problems, this thesis mainly focuses on studying on the demand of the message transmission. On the basis of substation communication standards named IEC 61850 and IEC 62351 issued by American substation communication organization, combined with the measures for message transmission, studying and designing a kind of high efficiency and low latency GCM encryption authentication system for the intelligent substation message transmission in the environment of FPGA, so as to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of substation message transmission.This thesis gives a detailed study on research and design on the core module of GCM encryption authentication system. Firstly, it introduces the principles of GCM encryption authentication system. Applying the AES encryption algorithm assures the confidentiality of the substation transmission message. In terms of key expansion, chaotic cryptography optimizes key management and distribution in encrypted block cipher system. Taking M series perturbation logistic chaotic series as the key generator of AES encryption system, improves the security of the key space and encryption system; GHASH authentication techniques ensure the integrity of the message transmission in the substation. Arash multiplier comes true by using high speed parallel structure,Hq parameters uses 2 times in the system for the purpose of achieving efficient parallel implementation. Based on the ModelSim simulation software for simulation and verification, GCM encryption authentication system integrates with the Verilog language and Quartus software.According to the framework of the overall hardware, simulation and verification has been made possiblly in the environment of FPGA for the security of the message transmission, and the simulation results are consistent with the test data, which proves the accuracy of GCM encryption authentication system. At the same time, according to the result of comprehensive report, GCM encryption authentication system's throughput rate is 11.29 Gbps, and theoretically, maximum transmission is 1.078 milliseconds of the GCM system, which can satisfy the requirements of minimum transmission time 4 ms for GOOSE message, which indicates that the system can achieve the secure transmission for a variety of message in substation. At last, the FPGA chip completes the AES encryption system and verifies it by seven segment digital tubes, which validates the feasibility of AES encryption system, resists attack against the data confidentiality, and enhances the security of communication network.
