Architecture as a human dwelling in nature, in the material and spiritual shelter for the human, is bound to be affected by natural environment and climate conditions, economic,technological and cultural habits the affected and restricted. People use the local natural materials, combined with the terrain, climate characteristics of the use of appropriate building techniques to create a suitable living environment, its type has become the carrier and symbol of the local regional culture. Vernacular house due to their most vulnerable to terrain features,weather conditions, local building materials and technologies, as well as regional culture influence,therefore can be the most direct and truest reflect local environmental resources,economic and technical levels, and the specific social and cultural how to use regional materials and local construction techniques in terms of form and space, organic combination and its form is also in line with the principles of aesthetics and the local habits and customs.From the archetype level is concerned, vernacular house as people of certain regions in the long historical process and continuous development and innovation and through concise material and spiritual achievements, including conventional behavior pattern, social taboo and buried in the heart of the vision and so on many aspects, in the process of building and settlement construction are to bear the brunt of consideration, also the influence of local building materials and construction techniques also play a irreplaceable role.This article is mainly based on archetype theory, select the most pervasive and general vernacular houses of Tongwei county as the research object, research vernacular house how to adapt to and take advantage of climate environment and preferences in terms of cultural habits and potential and inclusive, to solve the new housing design the basic problem; at the same time from the archetype of semantic expansion to trace the residential architecture, the construction mode, to explore the hidden in the local residential architecture under the representation of the original ecological experience. This thesis is mainly divided into four parts:Introduction: the first chapter of the dissertation mainly discusses the framework of the research background, purpose and significance of the research, research methods, and briefly introduces the theory of the baseline and the support system of archetype theory.Theoretical part: in the second chapter, mainly introduces the from archetype is proposed to archetype construction application, discusses the to explore specific areas of common people’s life and experience, factors on the area’s natural environment, living style and customs reached consensus, and thus the formation of a certain group is some value of research to a foreshadowing role, but also provide a theoretical basis for analysis of below vernacular houses of Tongwei County.Residential research part: including the third, fourth and fifth chapter, mainly discusses the construction of the prototype in the residential reflection for the current situation of Tongwei County. The third chapter mainly introduces the Tongwei county natural climate,geographical features and cultural history, overview of Tongwei county has built vernacular dwellings and the surrounding environment and the courtyard archetype analyzes; The fourth chapter introduce the archetype of vernacular house architecture and decorative symbol.The fifth chapter including the continuation of human emotions and psychological characteristics of the architectural language.New strategies and peroration: Paper sixth, seventh chapter discusses strategies of the new vernacular architecture and papers Conclusion.
