With the rapid development of economy, the demand for transportation, as one of the lifeblood of the economy, is gradually increasing. The characteristics of the current traffic conditions are: large traffic flow, vehicle weight and speed and so on. In this situation, the "vehicle- Road" system of road pavement quality and design is particularly important.Road roughness as one of the important indicators of the evaluation of the road, the people, car, the road has an impact. "Vehicle road system" is the process of interaction,pavement roughness will cause the vehicle to irregular vibration, and the vehicle and the road is a system, the vibration led directly to the pavement structure of the vibration, the vibration caused by road unevenness will directly lead to fatigue failure of the vehicle structure or components and road structure. Exists the difference results in the simulation of road roughness, using different simulation methods finally, figure from the same grade of road simulation comparison, the inverse Fourier transform method is used to simulate the results and the measured road roughness value error is relatively small, can be seen as the actual measurement value. In the road surface roughness measuring, the quarter vehicle model and acceleration sensor based, the establishment of the measurement of pavement roughness mathematical model and measured a pavement and calculation way surface roughness and road grade, through model can solve fast pavement statistic data and requires corrective maintenance sections, timely maintenance can improve vehicle driving safety and driving comfort and reduce damage of pavement and vehicle. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) The research status of road roughness at home and abroad is analyzed, and the purpose and significance of the research are also analyzed;(2) The road surface roughness is reviewed, and the instrument and measurement method,evaluation index, analysis method and system dynamics of "vehicle and road" are introduced;(3) Several simulation methods of road roughness are introduced, and the results obtained by different methods are analyzed and compared;(4) The 1/4 vehicle model and the acceleration sensor are established, and the mathematical model of road roughness is obtained by Laplace transform;(5) The road surface is measured, the acceleration value of the road surface is obtained,and the grade of the road surface is calculated by the mathematical model and its analysis.
