Road surface roughness, reflecting the uneven offset value of vertical section referringto reference surface, is one of main technical indicators evaluating the road comprehensivequality. Currently, how to detect the road roughness index quickly and accurately is a veryimportant issue. With the rapid development of sensor technology, the study of non-contactdetection method of road roughness collection has become the main direction field.Therefore, a set of vehicle-mounted road roughness acquisition system is designed anddeveloped combining the acceleration sensor.This paper analyzes the feasibility of overall program about this system, mainlyfocusing on the vehicle suspension model and data post-processing algorithm theory; and,designed the hardware and embedded software programs of lower machine usingmicrocontroller C8051F005as the core of the system; then combined with C#to design theposition machine interface; finally analyzed the real vehicle data collected by this system.System test results show that: the scheme of indirectly measuring road roughness bymeasuring the traveling vehicle suspension vertical acceleration information is reasonableand feasible; at the same time, the method of AR modeling from IRI measurement based ontime-series can be applied to road roughness classification; present, mostly road testingequipment is imported and expensive, but this paper has designed the entire measurementsystem hardware and software and has formed a system from hardware to softwarealgorithm processing structures. So if giving further design and optimization to this system,it can be applied to engineering pavement data acquisition and classification of roadroughness and other related fields.The main completed contents of this article include:Firstly, developed a set of lower machine of data acquisition system about roadroughness based on the acceleration sensor;Secondly, embedded Bluetooth wireless transmission function on the lower machine toachieve wireless data transmission and command exchange between the position and lowermachine;Thirdly, developed a set of PC data acquisition interface for the lower machine basedon.NET, including command controlling, data acquisition, data display, data storage, dataanalysis and other functions; Finally, we carry out road roughness feature extraction and grade evaluation accordingto the experimental data.
