Because of the overhead transmission line is long, the distribution is wide, the ground is located in the wilderness, and easy to be struck by lightning. According to the survey statistics show that the total number of accidents due to lightning stroke accounted for more than 60% of the total. At present, the reliability of power supply network is more and more high, the lightning protection of line is a problem to be solved.At present, the lightning protection measures are mainly to improve the insulation configuration, reduce grounding resistance, installation line lightning arrester, installation of lightning rod, set up the coupling ground wire, the installation of parallel gap, etc.The use of single lightning protection measures of high cost and poor use of the effect of the different characteristics of a certain area or a line to take a combination of different measures of lightning protection and lightning protection management can greatly improve the lightning protection effect. The so-called differentiation of lightning protection measures is based on the different characteristics of a certain area or a line to take different measures of lightning protection.According to the survey, at present in many areas, especially in the mountainous area in the selection of transmission line lightning preventing measures, and no terrain and weather conditions to consider the whole route through the whole line, and take the same basic lightning protection measures. It should be noted, however, that the weather conditions in a certain area have not changed much, but the terrain and geological conditions are not likely to be the same. The mountains are distributed more, each tower where the topography varies greatly, so the same line lightning protection measures taken to the same effect is received when not ideal.This paper, through the collection of the lightning density section, the lightning protection parameters of each line, the characteristics of the local terrain, the landform, the operation mode of the line voltage, the load characteristics, the operation mode of the system, the strength of the lightning activity, the characteristics of the terrain, the insulation configuration, the high and low soil resistivity, and the local meteorological factors.
