The laying of underground power cables is generally 1 to 2 meter, which is with no visibility. Therefore, in the absence of on-site underground power cable path information, in order to prevent the construction of the city excavation process causing unnecessary damage to underground cables, and in order to be able to quickly complete the precise positioning when underground power cable fault is happened at the scene, thus ensuring the normal operation of the power grid reliability, so the study of underground power cable path system is very necessary.For the deficiencies of the existing underground power cable path detector, combined with market and on-site detection demand, this paper presents a study of an underground power cable path detection system based on microcontroller. The system is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, firstly, due to the power cable work status unknown nature in the test site, directly detects the power frequency magnetic field signal of the running power cable without affecting the normal work, and for the non-running power cables detects the magnetic field signal generated by the specific frequency current through the detection transmitter. Then use high sensitivity tri-axial magneto-resistive sensors above the ground to measure the three-dimensional magnetic field components, later eliminate the strong magnetic field and extract the target signal by the signal pre-processing circuit and FIR digital filter, establish the magnetic field detection model, get the tested path towards and calculate the depth of the cable rapidly by the microcontroller. Meanwhile, the system can also make use of GPS positioning and interactive features, upload the detected location information of underground power cable to the PC by Modbus Protocol, so that the relevant staff can real-time record and manage on-site power cable route information.First of all, the thesis describes the development and technology of power cable and the current research of the power cable path detector, describes the basic principles of electromagnetic induction and the influence of the magnetic field strength on the ground for a different arrangement of cables and other factors. Then, gives the underground power cable path detector structure, working principle and block diagram, and details the various hardware circuit design and microcontroller-related control software design. Ultimately, the design completes the detection function of the power cable installation path and depth. The underground power cable path detection system designed in this paper with the characteristicsof low cost, small volume, high precision, easy to use, simple operation, has a broad application prospect in the market.
