There are largely populated fields and great area of structure in the rural region of our country. Rural buildings' houses also hold the majority of rural energy consumption. With the speeding up of new socialism rural reconstruction and the urbanization, the living standards of farmers is improving, the large village construction will consume large amounts of energy. At the same time, the rural energy facilities in our country are backward, efficiency of biomass energy utilization is low, waste seriously. The request of improving living conditions in village is urgent for expediting of village building refurbishment.In this paper, the problem is selected as background. By investigate and survey of current typical north village residence, and questionnaire?observation ?testing on site, current situation of village residence?energy structure and using situation were grasped, the problem of these aspect were pointed out, relevant improvement method was proposed. Village in severe cold area were selected as object of study. Heat transfer coefficient of building envelope such as siding?floor?roof and anteport was tested on site.According to the climatic characteristics of severe cold area, simulation was taken by DeST-h, to study the effect of building envelope on indoor thermal environment and building energy consumption. Orientation heat preservation way of siding and roof heat transfer coefficient of siding and window were under study to compare the effect on reducing energy consumption, to provide guidance direction and physical measure to new construction and reconstruction of village residence.By making full use of the existing experience in city building energy research, making full use of resources, materials and energy of rural areas and without significantly improving the cost of construction in rural buildings we can develop low cost, high efficiency, low pollution of building energy-saving technical That are suitable for villages and towns in cold areas by selectively developing retaining structure, life style, optimize consumption style. These measures can largely change the residents' living environment in rural areas,In this paper, the analysis and investigation of typical rural residential structure were done in the cold area. It proposes the latest information of the housing situation in rural areas, the forms of energy structure and utilization, and the typical heating shapes. And the existing problems were pointed out in these areas. The corresponding improvement measures were put forward too. It has great significance in design of comfortable and energy saving livable village residence and remission of energy pinch in China.
