The Application Of Emotional Design In The Elderly Product Design

At present,China has entered the period of population aging,and the situation is getting serious.As a result,the elderly has become a focus of social concern.More and more children,who are the only child in their family,go to work,get married and have children in other cities,therefore,the number of empty nest family rises dramatically.It is not enough to care for the elderly on the level of material,they need spiritual consolation and satisfactionmore.According to the statistics of the China Agedness Scientific Research Center,only 56.9% of old people in the city feel happy,and the proportion of rural area is only three.The thoughts of children and the disconnection from society are the causes of the elderly's negative emotions,which seriously affect their physical and mental health.Therefore,it has very important practical significance to pay attention to the emotional needs of the elderly,to design something to offer the elderly a more convenient and happy life,so that they can enjoy their old age.In this paper,the physical and psychological characteristics of the elderly are observed first to summarize influence of these characteristics on the design and requirements of old people oriented products;secondly,the three levels of emotional design are analyzed on the base of case study,and the emotional design method of old people oriented products is summarized;finally,according to the analysis of the market and the affection need of the elderly,based on Internet system,an intelligent communication product shall be designed.This product shall establish a close connection between parents and their children who live in another city.It cannot be denied that being at parents' side is the best choice,but sometimes,the distance just makes it hard.It is hopeful that this product can make it easy to get contact,and the elderly can get rid of loneliness and enjoy their life.
