The paper aims to increase the firing rate of 35mm gun.Through the analysis of the characteristics and the working principle of the existing twin barrel revolver automatic gun,the overall design of twin barrel revolver automatic gun with 8 chanbers is made.Through the analysis of the structure and working principle,the operation cycle diagram of twin barrel revolver automatic gun is presented.Based on the operation cycle diagram,the kinematics analysis of twin barrel revolver automatic gun are carried out.The parameters of the main mechanisms parameters are designed in detail.With the aid of 3D CAD Pro/Engineer software,the main parts of twin barrel revolver automatic gun is designed and the overall model of twin barrel revolver automatic gun is assembled.Virtual prototype model of twin barrel revolver automatic gun is established in ADAMS software,kinematic and dynamic simulation is carried out,and the dynamic characteristics of the twin barrel revolver automatic gun is obtained.Simulation results show that the twin barrel revolver automatic gun be capable of finishing the operation from ammunition feeding,ammunition ramming,firing,extraction and ejection.The firing rate and the dynamic characteristics could satisfy the design requirements.Finite element analysis for some key components of the revolver automatic gun has been done,the rationality of the design of the key components and the work reliability are verified.
