In this paper with the background of design high firing rate medium caliber gun. the scheme for a non-rotation of6barrels76mm naval gun is put forwarded. The six barrels are fixed as a barrel group without rotation and the squirrel cage around the barrels group center line to rotation for feeding ammunition. The automatic work cycle and the way of ammunition feeding and ejection and the breech locking are determined. According to the firing rate the working cycle diagram of the gun is determined. The detail design of the main mechanism parameters and parameters of the transmission for automatic gun are carried out.The detailed analysis of the squirrel cage ammunition feeding and ejection is carried out.The sequence diagrams of ammunition feeding and cartridge case go-out are presented. The cam and the end breech locking cam on rotation receive are designed in detail. The solid parts and assembly of the gun are established. Based on the solid model, the dynamics simulation of the gun is carried out with the software ADAMS and a virtual prototype of the gun is established. The simulation results show that the dynamic character of ammunition feeding and ejection, breech locking and unlocking, transmission mechanism can meet the design requirements.The modal analysis of barrels group and strength analysis of locking mechanism by ANASYS software is carried out. The analysis results show that, the firing-frequency is much less than natural-frequency and the resonance does not occur. The strength of locking part satisfy the requirement.Finally the power needed to drive the gun is roughly estimated.
