With the rapid development of China's economy and the process of urbanization,urban road construction has made a qualitative leap.Due to the limitation of terrain conditions,road construction land of mountain city is more precious.Because the traffic characteristics of mountain city are different from plain city,so the road construction of mountainous city should not be the "thousands of road side" phenomenon.Based on the investigation and analysis of the characteristics of mountain traffic,this paper studies the optimization design of urban road cross section.First of all,through the collection of a large number of the relevant research datas on the urban road design of domestic and foreign scholars,the paper summarizes the design standard on domestic and foreign city road cross section and roadway width.Then,it describes the traffic function and space function of the urban road,and summarizes the design ideas in coordination of traffic and space.That is to say,the traffic capacity of the traffic road must meet the traffic demand;Living street must meet the requirements of humanization of "people-oriented",pay attention to the space structure and living atmosphere design of the street,and take the concept that traffic calming and slow traffic integration run through it.And through the optimization of four stage of the cross section of the design theory and method,Based on the calculation method of urban road traffic capacity,the cross section design flow for the mountainous urban road is summarized.Secondly,the paper focuses on the analysis of a large number of typical cross sections of the urban road in mountainous areas,quantitatively analyses the characteristics of urban traffic composition,vehicle speed distribution and time headway and establishes the relationship between the lane width and the traffic distribution and the speed.At the same time,it analyzes the traffic investigation of the plane intersection,including the traffic characteristics of vehicles in intersection,pedestrians and motorcycles,to provide data support for the intersection of the plane intersection.In addition,to improve the utilization rate of land use in the mountainous area in the condition of traffic demand,it analyzes in detail the characteristics of the roadway in different grade and position and revises the formula of the capacity of the urban road capacity.Finally,through the research on the components of the road cross section and thestudy of the intersection of the plane intersection,combined the optimization theory,This paper puts forward suggestions to optimize the cross section type of Mountain based on traffic characteristics.Then combined with engineering example,it carries out the comparison and analysis of cross section design,and verifies the applicability and rationality of the choice of lane width,the calculation method of capacity and the theory and method of cross section design.
