Study On The Emotional Expression Design Of War Massacre Memorial Building

War massacre memorial buildings, as one type of memorial buildings, have emerged after the WWII in 20 th century. Different from general war memorial buildings, war massacre memorial building is aim to mourn for the innocent lives lost in the tragedy during war atrocities, and to cause descendants' rethinking of the war and to pursuit peace. So the key of the war massacre memorial buildings' design is to excavate the human nature and express the potential emotion and feelings.The emotions' expression of war massacre memorial buildings, which based on mercy, could be various and complicated, and so as the reaction of audience. The various reactions are aroused by the audience's differences of social, political, and cultural backgrounds, and the ability psychology and cognitive as well. But the human nature, which is evolved in people's blood, can be the basic stone of mutual communication and understanding among different nations because of its universal and common characters. And this character is also the premise that war massacre memorial buildings could arouse people's emotional resonance. First, shaping the emotional space through the basic attributes of the architectural space in order to establish the emotional tone, consist of spatial sequence, spatial form and proportion, spatial scale and massing, spatial interface etc. Second, reshaping the emotional space through the additional attributes of the architectural space in order to strengthen the emotional atmosphere of space and give the buildings a more profound emotional connotation, include of the selection of building materials, the design of acoustic environment and light environment, the application of digital display method etc.Based on synthesizing a large number of literature data and actual cases, this paper tries to summarize a suit of applicative and practical design methods for the emotional expression of war massacre memorial buildings' design combined with Environment-behavior Studies Theory.
