As the cars become popular, improving the safety of the vehicle crash, reducing of vibration and noise, lightweight of automobile, energy conservation and environmental protection have been important subjects which attract lots of attention from automotive research domain, hence, many scholars and technical personnel have carried on intense research and put forward many solutions, such as increasing energy absorption device, thickening of automobile steel plate and so on. Aluminum foam whose raw material is aluminum is a kind of synthetic foam materials. Due to its unique chemical properties and physical structure, the foam aluminum has the excellent performances including light weight, high specific strength and stiffness, energy absorption and sound insulation, which make it a better alternative as sandwich board to solve the above problem.Utilize aluminum foam to make the roof of aluminum foam laminated structure as prototype after analyzing the category of the vehicle roofs and the structure, function and purpose of a variety of roofs. According to the requirement of the prototyped roofs and properties of the aluminum foam, the roof of aluminum foam laminated structure is designed based on the above research with taking the lightweight as the premise. According to the Roof Crush Resistance of Pressure Cars (GB26134-2010) and The Protection of The Occupants of The Cab of a Commercial Vehicle (GB26512-2011), compare and analyze the result through the simulation analysis of static pressure test of resistance to compression for the original roof and the roof of aluminum foam laminated structure, which prove that the aluminum foam laminated structure can improve static characteristic of roof.Analyze the modality and harmonic response of the original vehicle roof and foam aluminum foam laminated roof by ANSYS-LSDYNA software, at the same time compare and analyze the structures to prove the feasibility and superiority of the new material for reducing of vibration and noise Apply ANSYS-LSDYNA software to analyze and compare the corresponding result of falling objects and lateral tilting tests for two kinds of roofs to prove the feasibility and superiority of aluminum foam laminated structure roof for improving vehicle safety.
