The global questions the safety of the nuclear power plant on large extent after Japan Fukushima nuclear power plant leakage accident, meanwhile, there is a large contradiction between environmental pollution and energy conservation and emission reduction on society, also the public has a fierce dissatisfaction because of the persistent fog and haze. Under this situation, on the basic of the summary of the experiences on nuclear power construction and the checking present nuclear operating statement, our government still regards the nuclear as the first choice to develop electric power. Combined the experience of construction on our second-half generation pressurized-water type and absorption and transformation the abroad third generation passive nuclear reactor, our country had researched the modified third generation of nuclear reactor independently, the representative of which is CAP 1400 pressurized water reactor and Hualon No.1 pressurized water reactor. Third generation reactor can improve the nuclear power plant safe on a large extent by using non-active technology, also has more advantage on energy conservation and emissions reduction.Compared with the obvious advantage, domestic third generation reactor also faces a great test on technology and management. Although third generation pressurized-water nuclear reactor adopted modular installation of advanced construction methods, technical problem is still complex, the most obvious problem is the quality of the key equipment technology cannot meet our requirements. Meanwhile, the large structure module faces a series of problem like the overall deformation quality control, heat treatment quality control, and the using of domestic material leading a lot of hard work about the larger structure module of construction quality management. X company have been engaged in the construction of nuclear power for 30 years in our country, which is typical representation having a large nuclear power construction quality problems and the related problems.With the background of the third generation nuclear reactor CAP 1400 steel containment vessel, combing with the quality management status of X company steel containment vessel, we analyze quality management problems showing steel containment vessel construction stage. By using quality improvement tools and six sigma analysis tools we also can analyze factors leading to management problems and put forward solutions just like running working process, improving performance incentive management, changing the personnel training mode, etc., so we can provide the reference for quality improvement of the X company steel containment vessel.
