Idler roller is the basic component of industrial production as well as one of the main components of belt conveyors, the function of idler roller is to support the conveyor belt, making the Sag of belt do not exceed to a certain limit to Ensure the smooth operation of the whole conveyor belt. The total weight of the rollers is about 30% to 40% by weight of the machine. Because of its large quantity, the quality of rollers affect the normal operation of belt conveyors and operational costs directly.The paper firstly describes the structure of the roller, discussing the principle of rotation resistance which it is generated from a detailed analysis of the impact resistance of the roller rotating on and mechanical structure and using conditions. The resistance to rotation can be affected by the roller bearings, seals, grease (grade and amount of oil) on the structure;the roller speed, temperature, load bearing on the roller on the using conditions as well as processed and assembled and so on.For the main factors, the paper designs the measuring equipment for roller rotation resistance as well as the hardware for a reasonable selection, also providing a total soft design on the measuring system.The experimental apparatus can change the size of the load suffered by the roller and the roller speed in real time, during the test run in the rotational resistance of the roller, acquiring the data generated from processing and analysis them legitimately based on the methods of articulated triangle and applied load lap belt. The paper designs the mechanical structure of the experimental apparatus and also using finite element analysis soft ANSYS Workbench to make device for measuring in static analysis and modal analysis. For measuring device modeling, verifying the stability of the mechanical mechanismThe design of soft of experimental system is based on VB6.0 and Advantech Active DAQ Pro software development kit, using method of DMA to acquisition the data. The paper has made a kind of experimental method in detail, which is based on GB/T10595-1989 and so on. The method defines sensor calibration method, system calibration method experimental evaluation process and results and several aspects of test bed in detail, and at the same time the system constitutes a measuring device error analysis.
