The air-powered engine is a new power equipment which uses the compressed air as its power source.When the compressed air expands in the cylinder,the pressure energy which contains will transform into machine power.The emission of the vehicle which equips the special engine is nearly maching to zero pollution,because it is without consuming any fossil fuel but the compressed air.A problem currently faced is the aerodynamic automobile gas energy utilization rate is not high.So further study on the system to enhance its efficiency and extend the range of the vehicle,features of the energy release of compressed air are discussed;guided by systematic theory analysis,the mathematic models of two-stage expansion air powered engine(APE)are innovated and improved;then the test proceeded;All these provide the APE optimization and further application will strong theoretical base and experiment data.The paper includes contents as follows.Chapter 1 briefly states the rearch state of high pressure pneumatic system and APE,and explains the significance of exergy analysis on APE's power system,finally summaries the main rearch objects of this thesis.In Chapter 2,the consist of APE's power system is discussed,the working principles of APE and the energy emission features of the compressed air are analyzed with the claim that,the essential way to improve the efficiency is to improve the exchange conditions for expansion process in the cylinders.In Chapter 3,Applying thetheories of thermodynamics and mechanics,the working process of basic APE two-stage expansion is analyzed and its related mathematicmodel is built up.The simulation methods based on this model are discussed,which is the preparation for the later research work.In Chapter 4,It use AMESim to simulate two-stage expansion APE systems,Then,the influences on the engine brought by the parameters as speed,port timing,inlet air pressure are comprehensively and the performance rules under the parameters above are obtained through the process.Optimization of combined with DOE and NLPQL for port timing is applied,And get the optimization results.Chapter 5,Two-stage expansion APE is designed and produced.When engines are experimented on the bench,the gap between the experimental data and simulation data is analyzed.
