As the structure and function of power dispatch automation system has been constantly improved, which leads to a higher and higher level that dispatchers depend on the system, the workers pay more and more attention to how to find and process the malfunction rapidly and exactly and maintain the automation system operating stably. The purpose of the research is collect and monitor the operation situation of the main system, through establishment of the malfunction experience data base to make reasonable judgments and decisions, which make the automation system free from the operation mode of the manual monitor and change system to electronic watch.The difficulty of the current monitor of automation system and the existing problems of manual monitor are analyzed, especially the complexity of automation system. It is designed and studied on the basis of centralization, intelligence and high efficiency to reduce staffs'work load.To start with, it analyzes the general structure of system, the design of networking and general module system are analyzed, with the discussion of the function for sub-module. Considering that basic support are required to the function in the field of framework of application, three-layer C/S framework based on Qt are used to system, While VC, as a tool of development, is used to manage all the alarm information in MySQL database. Secondly, data acquisition of monitored system are gathered through FTP testing communication interface and IEC104 protocol communication interface, while alarm are collected through extension interface, short messages, external app, and transaction logging are uploaded to OMS management system. Meanwhile, it is convenient for watch keepers to judge and process since different alarm level enjoys different types of alarm. Moreover, the malfunction experience database is established on the basis of expert system to be used to judge and locate malfunction intelligently. The malfunction handling sorting algorithm is used to provide the best solutions for watchkeepers. Last but not least, the function of each sub-module and algorithm implementation is design-analyzed in detail. The constitution and implementation of each module are illustrated in tables, graphics, texts and codes. Operating system is easy and intuitive for watch keepers to use that they can do whatever they want conveniently through the touch screen.Test cases are made for electronic watch system and testing report are described according to requirements of users. Malfunction can be judged with more efficiency through electronic watch system that watchkeepers spend less time in dealing with the malfunction than previous. Intelligent alarm of power system result in the development of electronic watch system with more intelligence and totalization.
