Hydraulic excavator is a significant element in the infrastructure construction, such as railroading and property construction. Traditional excavator doesn't have the on-line metering device in the process of usual operation, the weighing of materials on the bucket mostly depends on the trucking or the off-line loadometer weighing. The traditional weighing methods are not only subject to the poor working environment, but also not conducive to data processing and managing. In domestic, the dynamic weighing methods of the hydraulic excavator have not been mentioned before. The application of dynamic weighing may improves the excavator's work efficiency. It is an indispensable step to the high intelligent development of excavator, what's more, it will become one trend of the industry and be. Based on the above, a dynamic weighing method of hydraulic excavator is developed.The main work is listed as follows.Firstly, the significance of research on the dynamic weighing method in hydraulic excavator is proposed, which is based on the analysis and comparison of the domestic and foreign weighing technology in engineering machinery. Then the main points of the study are putted forward according to the analysis of system performance and working mode.Secondly, a high-efficiency weighing method is presented, which is based on the analysis of dynamic weighing theory of the hydraulic excavator. Then, combined with the mechanism specification and special working conditions of excavator, the mathematical model of dynamic weighing is established by means of the kinematics and dynamics analysis.After that, a simulation model of excavator's virtual prototype is executed in order to verify the accuracy of the mathematical model. The model is constructed in ADAMS platform with the mechanism parameters of excavator. And the aim of simulation is to gather the input parameters, which are required by the mathematical model of dynamic weighing, for the subsequent validation.Finally, for the purpose of validating the mathematical model of dynamicweighing, the algorithm program of mathematical model and the parametersidentification program of recursive least square methodology(RLS) are developedby using MATLAB. By comparing the identification of the material quality and real quality, the accuracy and feasibility of the mathematical model of dynamic weighing can be validated.With the simulations of ADAMS and MATLAB, the virtual prototype model of hydraulic excavator has been built. And the algorithm program of dynamic weighing has been developed. The analysis of the data which gathered under two different conditional experiments shows that the pre-simulation has been reached. At last, the classified result of dynamic weighing with RLC indicates that the mathematical model is correct and convergent. The solution for hydraulic excavator by using dynamic weighing method offers a new principle and a new direction for intelligent control. It plays an important role in promoting the efficiency of excavator.
