It is very clear that a port can take great agglomeration effect to the economy of a city. Moreover a port plays an important role in the modern logistic industry. With the development of economy, the flow of goods is increasing rapidly. The growth of the business also put forward many new requirements to the development of a modern port. As the development of hardware and software technology in information technology into its maturity, the informatization construction of the port has become the primary task.In recent years, embedded technology and its products is developing rapidly. It has been widely involved in industry, manufacturing industry and even our lives. With the stability of the system, the specificity of the function and the good adaptability of the environment, the embedded products can be made full use of the prominent advantages in the industrial field.Following the information construction of a port, the purpose of this paper is to realize the informatization of the port crane based on the embedded technology, so as to improve the efficiency and security of the whole operation process of a port. Aim at the most common environment, the collaborative work of multi cranes, the paper dedicated to the study of a comprehensive monitoring system that in order to solve the “fight” issue when multi cranes operation together may occur. Moreover it would get rid of the uncertainty of human factors in the operation process. The main research contents are as follows:Based on the comprehensive analysis on collaborative work of multi cranes and the needs of the business flow, the paper proposes the hardware architecture and software design of system framework, so as to build the multi-level port monitoring network with a remote monitoring module, a front-end display module and a data acquisition and processing module.The paper selects the gantry crane with four connecting rod combination as the main object of study. Firstly, it analyzes the transformation of the crane boom system in the process of movement and build the dynamic equations of motion. Then it would propose the inspection process about how to determine if the key points of multi cranes have interfered or not in 3D space.According to the needs of the hardware and software environment of the system, the design scheme sets the ARM7 and Cortex-A8 as the core chip of the data acquisition and processing module and the front-end display module and selects the main hardware of the system. Then it focuses on the process of setting up software development environment. Based on the Qt/Embedded technology, the interface application program is developed with the use of the host and the target joint model.Combining with the business process analysis of the crane operating system, the application builds driver model and administrator model based on the role of the user. So that it can realize the good human-computer interaction and improve the efficiency of system operation and management.
