As an important component of the catenary, Overhead crossing for OCS is the weakest part of the catenary and prone areas of pantograph and catenary accidents in railway, reasonable plane layout of overhead crossing is a basic guarantee for the locomotive safety passing the turnout. The present situation of plane layout of the overhead crossing is mainly reflected in the coupling between the pantograph and catenary, the two contact wire in the beginning contact zone are not in the same side of the center line of pantograph, to ensure the security of electric locomotive when it passes the turnout in high-speed situation, the plane layout of catenary above the turnout should be further studied, the original structure of plane layout of overhead crossing should be optimized.Firstly, the basic elements of catenary above turnout in design stage should be studied, the coupling relationship between the pantograph and catenary when the contact wire is located at different position of the pantograph is analyzed by the basic structure of turnout and pantograph, geometric parameters of turnout and pantograph and mechanical characteristics of pantograph.Secondly, related the catenary parameters of plane layout of overhead crossing and the requirements of overhead crossing for the design specification of catenary should be studied, analyzing the influencing factors of the position of plane layout of the overhead crossing. The factors which influence the position of plane layout of overhead crossing include the beginning contact zone of pantograph, the wireless clip zone of contact wire, the stagger of contact wire, the height of contact wire, the slope of contact wire, the level force of pillar, the wind deviation of contact wire, the elasticity of contact wire and length of span.Then, the principles and methods of plane layout for crossing and non-crossing should be studied in this paper. The research contents of plane layout of overhead crossing mainly include location of the positioning pillar in turnout, selection of span, selection of stagger and control of height of contact wire, the specific design method of plane layout of overhead crossing and the adjustment method of failure detected parameters for plane layout of overhead crossing are listed by studying the principles and methods of plane layout for overhead crossing.Finally, the geometry parameters of wuhan-guangzhou high-speed railway catenary is used by this paper, the plane layout of catenary above 42# turnout are analyzed in two different conditions, the reasonableness of method of plane layout for non-crossing is verified through comparing the two conditions, the applicable condition of plane layout of overhead non-crossing with an auxiliary suspension above the turnout is analyzed.
